Steve Buchenroth is the CEO of World Class Plastics, Inc. and the President, owner and operator of Midwest Corporate Air, Inc. Steve is a 1980 graduate of Indian Lake High School, and a 1986 graduate of The Ohio State University where he earned a BS degree in Business Administration with a major in Aviation Management. After OSU, he completed Officers Training and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air National Guard where he reached the rank of Captain and flew the F4 Phantom as a Navigator / Weapon Systems Officer for the Black Snake Squadron of the 122nd Tactical Fighter Wing, in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
Today Steve is a corporate pilot, an on-demand air charter pilot and a very active FAA Gold Seal single and Multi Engine Certified Flight Instructor. To date, he has directly trained or heavily participated in the training of well over 100 successful pilots who received their pilot certificates and ratings through Midwest Corporate Air. These include over 40 Multi Engine and Multi Engine instructor pilots.
Steve holds an Airline Transport Pilot License (ATP) and is type rated in the Hawker 800XP and Sabreliner 65 business jets that he flies on a regular basis for a local manufacturing company. Currently between singe and Multi Engine instruction, Aircraft Charter and corporate flying, Steve flies over 500 hours per year and is extremely passionate about teaching all levels of flying. He makes learning fun and his students enjoy an exceptionally high pass rate. Steve has accumulated over 5,000 hours of flight time.
Steve enjoys flying to sunny places, shooting, weightlifting, boating, riding his Harley, playing guitar and now building websites! He also attends Edison Community College in the evenings where he is earning a second degree in Internet Technologies / Interactive Media Web Site Designer.
Megan graduated from Urbana University at age 19 with a BS degree in Business Administration, majoring in Management. She is also licensed to teach secondary education in the state of Ohio. Currently Megan teaches several evening computer courses at the Ohio Hi Point Joint Vocational School.
For Midwest Corporate Air, Inc., Megan works about twenty hours per week, serving as both our Accounting Manager and as Administrator for Steve Buchenroth. The remainer of her work week is spent performing accounting duties for World Class Plastics, Inc.
Megan is also a licensed single engine and Multi Engine Private Pilot and is currently completing her instrument rating. She also enjoys snow skiing, boating and riding dirtbikes. Megan is a member of the Ninety-Nines Organization and the Women in Aviation International. Megan is also planning to be a Certified Flight Instructor for Midwest Corporate Air, Inc.
Brian graduated from Bellefontaine High School in 1977 and proceeded to join the Navy in Janurary of 1978. Brian served aboard submarines as a Nuclear PowerPlant Machinist Mate until he was honorably discharged in October 1986.
Brian began working for Midwest Corporate Air in the spring of 1987 and received his Private Pilot License in Novemeber of that same year. Attending Columbus State Community College Brian obtained his Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License in Janurary 1990 and his Inspection Authorization (IA)in Janurary of 1993.
Brian has an extensive background in the repair and maintenance of Piper and Cessna single and twin engine aircraft and is a Diamond Aircraft Certified Maintenance Technician. Brian also has extensive experience in piston engine overhaul and repair, as well as light airframe repair and modification.
Brian enjoys golfing, bowling and computers. He is married to Lori Fisher, the Human Resource Manager for World Class Plastics, Inc.
David Maynard holds a BS degree in Geology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle University. He also completed his Airframe and Powerplant Certificates from Columbus State Community College and subsequently earned Inspection Authority from the FAA.
David resides in Troy, Ohio with his wife Karen, a Pediatric Physician and their two children Madeline and Hailey.
David currently flies a Cessna 441 Conquest II and a Cessna 421B for a Dayton corporation. As a FAA Gold Seal Flight Instructor David is a part-time Flight Instructor for Midwest Corporate Air, Inc. where he has taught numerous students how to fly both single engine and multi engine aircraft. David has given over 2,000 hours of dual flight instruction and has accumulated over 3,000 hours of total flight time.
David enjoys spending time with his family, martial arts and shooting competitions.
Caleb Ford earned his Private Pilot License and Instrument Rating at the Sidney Municiple, Airport in Sidney, Ohio. He earned his Commercial Single Engine and Multi Engine Certificates at the Airline Pilot's Academy in Florida and his Certified Flight Instructor License at The Ohio State University.
During his training, Caleb has flown small aircraft to Florida, Tennessee and Arkansas as well as over most of the midwest. He especially enjoys cross country and instrument flying. Caleb has been instructing part-time on weekends and evenings for Midwest Corporate Air since 2004.
Caleb and his wife Charity currently reside in Rosewood, Ohio where Caleb is an ASE Certified Master Auto Technician at Ford's Garage. Caleb enjoys spending time with his wife, playing guitar, building computers, self defense and competitive shooting.
Ben Gaertner graduated from Hilliard High School near Columbus, Ohio in 1997. After working several years running backhoes and pounding spikes for the railroad, he decided there must be a better way to make a living. Following his love of airplanes, Ben decided to make a career change and to become a pilot.
Ben started his flight training in June of 2008 and by June of 2009, he earned his Multi Engine Instructor License. Today he is a new part-time Flight Instructor for Midwest Corporate Air where he teaches all ratings offered bu Midwest Corporate Air.
Ben and his wife Jen live in Dublin, Ohio with their daughter Madelyn.
John Watkins graduated from Benjamin Logan High School in 1999. He attended The Ohio State University majoring in Landscape Architecture. John put himself through college as a landscape foreman and site manager with the Peabody Construction company in Columbus, Ohio.
Currently John performs building maintenance on several multi-unit apartment complexes and maintaines the grounds and lighting at the Bellefontaine Regional Airport. He also maintaines the desk several evenings per week.
Matt is a 1979 graduate of Benjamin Logan High School and in 1981 studied electronics at ITT Tech. From 1981 through 1986 Matt was a chef for Capitol University and Wellington Private School in Upper Arlington.
From 1986 until 2000 Matt worked for AGC Automotive(formaly AP Technoglass) as a Quality Engineer. Since 2000 he has been the Quality Manager for World Class Plastics, Inc.
Matt is married to Becky and they have 4 children.
Here at Midwest Corporate Air Matt works weekends, helping at the front desk and providing line service. He also cleans our facility, our aircraft and performes grounds keeping.
Born and raised in Logan County Skip was introduced to aviation in 1970 through a class taught by Dwight Spencer at Indian Lake High School. Skip graduated in 1971 from Riverside High Schoool and began driving trucks for Ritter Brothers, before driving over-the-road semi.
In 1986 he began working for Honda and has been there for 23 years; 22 years in Marysville, 17 years as a team leader before transfering to Anna as a machine operator.
Skip is married to Amy, a Medical Assistant at Grand Lake Podiatry, and they have 6 children. He enjoys flying and farming in his spare time. Skip is a licensed Private Airplane Pilot and a Powered Parachute Pilot. He owns a 1976 Cherokee 140 and a 2000 Buckeye Dream Machine powered parachute.
Skip works part time at Midwest Corporate Air helping at the front desk, providing line service and grounds keeping.
